Jack and Elisabeth Otto emigrated from South-Africa in 1997. Starting their own Electrical, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning business in 1999. Elisabeth is a Beauty Therapist with 25 years experience and worked in various Day spa’s and beauty salons over the years. After 19 years in Perth they made the decision to move to Denmark.
In February 2016, Jack and Elisabeth Otto, bought Chimes Spa Retreat from Kane and Michelle Randell
The land here was originally a farm. After 18 months of planning the previous owners, Kane and Michelle Randell, arrived here from Perth early in 1995 to build and opened the doors for the first time Christmas Eve 1995. Karri Mia Lodge (as Chimes were known back then) was the first West Australian lodge/private country hotel to be awarded a 5 star rating and won the Tourism Award in Accommodation in our first year.
Although Chimes Spa Retreat is situated alongside Karri Mia Resort it was not part of the Resort.Chimes was independently owned and operated.
On the 2nd anniversary of the business (Christmas 1997) They opened the East Wing which gave Chimes 10 rooms instead of 7 rooms.
To help create Chimes own identity, in early 2000 we changed our name from Karri Mia Lodge to Chimes Spa Retreat with a view to creating the day spa facilities. The Day Spa was opened 2002.
